Gun Cleaning Products
Barrels do not wear out from shooting nearly as often as they wear out from careless cleaning. A steel rod that flexes against the crown, a brush with a steel core, a bore snake dragged through grit – each of those costs accuracy that no solvent brings back. GUNNIX exists because that damage is preventable with the right hardware.
We make gun cleaning products and nothing else. No optics, no holsters, no safes. Bore brushes come in sixteen sizes, jags in thirteen, mops in ten, because a .243 and a .270 need different tools and calling both "rifle" solves nothing.
Most brands sell you a case and hope you never open it again. GUNNIX sells the case and then sells you the eight-dollar brush that replaces the one you wore out – which is what actually happens after a season of range trips.
GUNNIX Gun Cleaning Product Range
The GUNNIX range of gun cleaning products separates consumables from hardware. Brushes and mops wear out with use. Jags, rods and slotted tips do not. Both groups are stocked as individual products across the categories below:
- Gun Cleaning Kits. The Universal Elite Kit contains 36 pieces in a reinforced zippered case and covers rifle, pistol and shotgun bores in a single purchase.
- Bore Brush Set. A brush, jag and mop matched to one caliber. Supplied for shooters who maintain a single platform and need the three core tools in one bore size.
- Bore Snakes. Pull-through cords with a brass weight, integrated brush and floss section, stocked in seven caliber ranges. Used for field cleaning and range sessions where a rod is impractical.
- Bore Brushes. Sixteen sizes covering .17 through 12 GA, plus a 5.56mm chamber brush for AR platforms. Bristles and core wire are both brass.
- Bore Mops. Cotton mops on brass threading in ten sizes. Used to apply solvent before brushing and to dry the bore afterwards.
- Gun Cleaning Jags. Thirteen sizes of pointed brass jags, including .338, .375 and .44. A jag holds the patch against the rifling through the full length of the stroke.
- Slotted Tips. Brass tips that carry a patch through a slot. Loading takes less time than fitting a jag, which suits repeated solvent passes.
- Flexible Gun Cleaning Cable. Five lengths: 8 inch for pistols, 12 inch for revolvers, 30 and 34 inch for rifles and carbines, 36 inch for shotguns. Used on firearms that cannot accept a rigid rod at the chamber.
- AP Brushes. Nylon, bronze and stainless steel detailing brushes for bolt faces, slide rails, feed ramps and receiver corners. Sold individually or as a three-piece set.
- Gun Cleaning Rods. Brass rods in 7.5 inch sections, supplied as a four-piece set or with a T-handle. Brass is used in place of steel because a steel rod flexes under load and contacts the bore off-centre.

Which Firearms and Calibers Do GUNNIX Gun Cleaning Products Cover?
GUNNIX gun cleaning products cover three firearm families. Coverage is published per bore size rather than per cartridge name, because a .308 Winchester, a .30-06 and a 7.62 NATO all take the same .30 caliber brush – and a catalog that lists them as three separate products is padding its numbers.
By firearm type
Rifles – bolt-action, lever-action, semi-automatic and modern sporting rifles including AR-15 and AR-10. Rod sections thread to the 8-32 standard, with 5-40 adapters for the small bores. A 5.56mm chamber brush is stocked separately, since a bore brush does not reach chamber fouling on an AR.
Handguns – semi-automatic pistols and revolvers. The 8 inch and 12 inch cables suit barrels that a full-length rifle rod overshoots, and pistol-length brushes fit the shorter stroke.
Shotguns – pump, semi-automatic and break-action, in 12, 16 and 20 gauge plus .410 bore. Shotgun rods use the 5/16-27 thread, and the adapter to 8-32 is stocked as a separate item rather than assumed.

Nineteen bore sizes are stocked across brushes, jags, mops and slotted tips:
- Rimfire and small bore – .17, .22 – Centerfire rifle – .243, .25, .270, .28, .30, .338, .375;
- Large bore – .50;
- Pistol and revolver – .357 / 9mm, .38, .40, .44, .45;
- Shotgun – 12 GA, 16 GA, 20 GA, .410.
Not every size exists in every product type, and the catalog says so plainly. Bore brushes reach the widest at sixteen sizes; jags cover thirteen; mops ten. Where a mop is not made in your caliber, a slotted tip and a patch do the same job. What GUNNIX will not do is print a caliber on a package and let you discover the gap at the bench.

Brush construction
GUNNIX bore brushes use brass bristles on a brass core wire. Many brushes on the market pair bronze bristles with a steel core. Modern barrel steel withstands a lifetime of brushing from the bristles themselves. The core wire is the component in contact with the crown.
Rod material and muzzle protection
GUNNIX cleaning rods are brass, supplied in 7.5 inch sections, as a four-piece set or with a T-handle. A steel rod flexes under load and contacts one side of the bore, which wears rifling at the muzzle. Every kit includes a muzzle guard set covering .17 Cal through 12 GA. Flexible cables in five lengths, from 8 to 36 inches, clean breech to muzzle on firearms that cannot take a rod at the chamber.
